Primary Function

This position is responsible for a variety of processing projects in the Government Publications Library unit. This work is done under the direction and supervision of GPL staff.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying correct materials shipped from other campus libraries and performing intake processing and labeling for GPL collections.
  • Identifying correct Alma records for paper, microfiche, and CD-Roms and notifying supervisor of duplicate records.
  • Updating and correcting Alma holding and item records.
  • Checking receipts on new shipping lists and printing call number labels for documents.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Basic office skills (filing, alphabetizing, sorting, accurate typing).
  • Attention to detail in an environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SuDoc and LC classification systems.
  • Familiarity with Alma and other GPL processes and resources.
  • Familiarity with bindery processes and handling old and fragile materials. 
  • Familiarity with GPL’s Serial Set inventory and condition processes.

This is a part-time, temporary position. The base pay is $17.50/hour.
